Our body needs water to survive. The minerals and trace elements it contains form the building blocks for tissue, skeleton and our metabolism. Doctors recommend an intake of eight glasses of fluid a day from drinks and other foods. This should be increased during physical activity. A person who drinks enough will flourish both in body and in mind.
The rules are quite simple:
• Don't wait until you are thirsty.
• Drink a small amount at regular intervals throughout the day.
• Mineral water, fruit juice and herbal teas are ideal thirst quenchers.
• If you have been perspiring heavily, during sport for example, try to compensate for the loss of fluid
immediately.
