People who have difficulty hearing over the phone often look to their hearing aids for help. If your Gaia hearing aids have a telephone switch or 'T-coil', this feature can make it easier to understand telephone conversations.

The Telecoil is activated by the larger switch on the back of a Behind-the-Ear style, or by the push-button on the outside of an In-the-Ear style.

By activating the Telecoil you can disengage the microphone from picking up sounds around you that might distract you from hearing on the phone.

When you use the Telecoil, the sound from the phone goes directly to your instrument with less interference. This often makes speech much easier to understand.

Instead of using a Telecoil, some people prefer just to use the phone normally with their hearing aids. However, others might find it more comfortable to remove the hearing aid when using the phone. The right solution is whatever is most convenient and beneficial to you. Your hearing care professional can tell you which option best suits your lifestyle.

In your Gaia User Instructions Booklet you will find more information about using the phone.
